Free Will Baptist Church

Free Will Baptist Church (or Free Will Baptists) is a group of churches that share a common history, name, and an acceptance of the Arminian theology of free grace, free salvation, and free will, based on the idea of general atonement. Free Will Baptists share similar soteriological views with General Baptists, Separate Baptists and some United Baptists. The autonomous power of the local church is highly valued. The denomination remains relatively rural and is especially strong in the southern United States.

General Baptist is a generic term for Baptists that hold the view of a general atonement, as well as a specific name of groups of Baptists within the broader category.

A religious denomination (also simply denomination) is a subgroup within a religion that operates under a common name, tradition, and identity.

The term is frequently used to describe various Christian denomination (for example, Eastern Orthodoxy, Catholicism, and the many varieties of Protestantism or Restorationism). Formation of denominations

Denominations often form slowly over time for many reasons; due to historicl accidents of geography, culture, and influence between different groups, members of a given religion slowly begin to diverge in their views. Over time members of a religion may find that they have developed significantly different views on theology, philosophy, religious pluralism, ethics and religious practices and rituals. As such, in any of myriad ways, different denominations eventually form.

In other cases, denominations form very rapidly, either as a result from a split or schism in an existing denomination, or as people from many different denominations share an experience of spiritual revival or spiritual awakening, and choose to form a new denomination based on that new experience or understanding.

Baptist is a term describing individuals belonging to a Baptist church or a Baptist denomination. The faith takes its name from the conviction that followers of Jesus Christ are commanded to be immersed in water as a visible and public display of their faith. Baptists do not practice infant baptism.

A denomination, in the Christian sense of the word, is an identifiable religious body under a common name, structure, and/or doctrine.

A church is an association of people who share a particular belief system. The term church originated from the pre-Christian Germanic kirika.
